You should really have mentioned that Dr Stephen Hirst who practiced in the Chiswick area is also on the panel. He wasn't my GP but I know that he was hugely respected by his patients and I'm not aware that he had any party affiliations.

That said your point is well-made and I think most people would recognise this exercise for what it is - a transparent bit of electioneering. It would be interesting to know how much it will end up costing us.

On the other hand they are all at it. There has been a noticeable uptick of ads from various ministries promoting initiatives which are recognisable Conservative in inspiration and the announcement today on a 10 minute stay of execution on parking tickets, whilst very welcome, has been carefully timed as a vote winner.
