The numbers of cars using and paying in the car park since charges were introduced prove conclusively that there was never any displacement from that car park into neighbouring roads. There were never any commuters parking in that car park. Chiswick House Trustees' own research into car numbers in Park and Staveley Roads in 2011 stated very clearly that "charging in the car park will have no effect on parking in neighbouring roads, and must not be used as an excuse for introducing a CPZ scheme". It was all a big fat lie, but nobody will ever be held accountable for it because LBH know that they can feed us any crap they want to support this or that initiative, and it's impossible to hold them to account (CPZ, Wheelie Bins, CCTV, street lights....) So No. it does not mean the cancellation of CPZ. The CPZ will be rolled out across the whole of Grove Park in due course. The traffic department have decided that, and no democratic process will be allowed to derail it. |
