Parking Wardens routinely use the high tech approach of little notebook and pencil to record vehicles in CPZs.

But you are right, What's to say that I drive into Zone 'A' get recorded by the PW drive to another zone and then back to Zone 'A' four hours later to be recorded by the same warden who, short of following me on a pushbike has no idea how long I was in one place.

I know that 'proper' traffic wardens used to note the positions of the tyre valves on the nearside of the vehicle to prove that it had not been moved. I wonder if they still do that?
