Just before Christmas a bloke in a Santa hat appeared on my doorstop shaking a charity collection tin. He said he was raising money to help stop teenagers becoming involved in knife crime. On further questioning he said he was collecting on behalf of UCKG. This turned out on investigation to be the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. I think I did the right thing by not giving him any money but does anyone have any first hand experience of this group? They are a registered charity but from what I can glean from the internet they are "not without blemish". |
