Thanks Robin, but that doesnt answer the question as to why this extra bureaucracy is needed. If a resident has purchased a parking permit, why can't they use it in any car they have access to? What is the point? It can only be used in one car at a time after all. I suppose there is a concern that some rogue residents may sell their permits on to commuters, but I'd rather see the authorities take some initiative in detecting and prosecuting frauds than imposing extra beauracracy at the cost and inconvenience of the overwhelming majority of law abiding citizens. |
