"maybe road traffic volumes have increased since then" Doubt it, unless there's something specific to those roads that would allow them to buck the London-wide trend of reducing traffic. Bollo Lane has 29 trains/day on the western LC (I4) and 142/day on the eastern (G2), so together roughly the same as Grove Park today - you'd expect about another 120 per day or so if you put a 15-minute interval service on the western one. It has about 6-7x the road traffic, though. For comparison: Vine Rd. Barnes on the Richmond line (F3) has 1700 vehicles/day Sheen Lane Mortlake (E2) has 4500 vehicles/day Manor Rd. North Sheen (E2) has 5800 vehicles/day NR can't agree how many trains go over them per day, though! Around 350, perhaps. One other thing about Grove Park is its relative lack of use compared with the latter two in particular, even though on the face of it those two are more risky. We're presumably also marked down as an easy win due to low usage. |
