| The meeting of Finance Ministers which will decide on the surcharge requires a simple majority with no vetoes. The majority of countries are scheduled to get a rebate, whilst the likes of Italy and Greece as well as Holland and the UK will have to pay. That looks as if the matter is sewn up. Or a stitch-up. If it has to be paid let's deliver it in euro coins. The photo opportunity of 700 lorries making the delivery would be quite inspiring let alone the prospect of dumping the load on the steps of the Commission |
