This condition should be imposed as part of the planning consent, especially in residential areas. When planning applications routinely came to the Chiswick Area Forum Cllr McGregor regularly pointed out that such a condition had not been written in and that it MUST be. I know from my own personal experience that contractors (and their clients) are often desperate to 'accelerate' the works particularly towards the end of a contract. Late night and weekend working can become the norm. Neighbours can find themselves in a dilemma. They also want the work finished as soon as possible as well (and for the noise to stop permanently) but they want to be able to have some respite on the weekends. My suggestion is to contact the owner of the property or the head office of the contractor and explain the problem (as well as contacting LBH). You can always talk to the builders themselves but that may require an interpreter. |
