| Waitrose is an aspiration, not a certainty for The new Oaks. It was part of the 'spin' during the planning process. There was some opposition to the design and impact on the local community but Acton High Street compares unfavourably with Brentford High Street and redevelopment of the Oaks site is much needed. If they build it, hopefully Waitrose will sign up and return to their birthplace. (PS House prices in Acton are souring, partly due to Cross Rail, Chiswick will look on and envy..........) |
