So have you looked at the service that H&F provides? Here is a bit of it: "Please help us to keep your streets clean Do your bit by: putting your refuse in your front garden or outside your property where it is clearly visible between the times listed below having your refuse available for collection either after 9pm on the evening before your collection day, or before 6.00am on your collection day not putting loose items out for collection. Please put waste in strong refuse sacks rather than flimsy carrier bags or kitchen liners. Refuse sacks can be put out for collection by themselves or in a dustbin - we recommend the use of normal 90 litre dustbins. The maximum capacity bin we can collect from street level properties is a 140 litre wheelie bin. This is because our one pass collection vehicles are not equipped to empty bins mechanically and the bins are too large to be manually emptied into the vehicle. We will write to households that do not follow the procedure above, to let them know how to put their waste out for collection. If problems continue we reserve the right to cease collections. Please do not put loose waste in your dustbin; it can make it harder for you to keep clean and to wash out. " Please note this is H&F policy not LBH. LBH has very good information on their website for access 24/7 and it is also regularly seen in the magazine which is distributed. I have also seen it advertised on the banners in the street. People should make the effort to find out for themselves and not just expect the Council to run some sort of personal valeting service for them. Who isn't making the effort? I also remember H&F making recycling compulsory in some areas. If there are particular properties which are a problem eg blocks of flats then there may be a management problem and the Council should be alerted to help deal with this. |
