I'm highly amused at several pronouncements in the latest, Autumn 2014, "Hounslow Matters" propaganda magazine.

Pages 10-11 "We pledge to overhaul bin collection to boost recycling and get streets cleaner" - the list of promises under 'Improve our Streets' is considerable.

Some of the complaints about the filthy, rubbish strewn state of our High Road and W4 streets must have finally filtered through to the right people.     They've not been in the job long so suppose they're still on a learning curve but they've now got a zero tolerance of litter.  Good-oh.

Other promises - they're going to plant 1,000 new trees (hope some of them will come to W4;
- they're also going to finish replacing our street lights (are those the nasty cheap ones damaging to peoples' eyes and shining into their bedrooms?);
- we're also promised clearing of leaves - that'll be a first for quite a while.

All good promises - let's see what happens next.
