David Cameron has said- and I can hardly believe it - "I want us to end the idea that aged 18 you can leave school, leave home and claim benefit". Now I may be missing something, but isn't this the same government whose benefits minister the Idiot Duncan Smith has brought in all these rules and regulations to make it more difficult for people to claim benefits? Or in a lot of cases take them away altogether. So, either those rules aren't working and we're being fed a load of old B/S or these 18 year olds are simply a product of Cameron's overheated imagination. I just wish this could be squared with the knowledge that more and more people in their thirties are still having to live at home because they CAN'T afford to leave due to the criminally high rents, not to even mention the stratospheric house prices they can't even dream of. So what is it? Loads of 18 year olds leaving home and living in flats and claiming all these benefits and living the life of Riley, or hardly anyone being able to leave home because their wages have been squeezed to death? Looks as though yet again those least able to afford it will be picked on by the government to bail them out of the crap, while their mates fill their boots. |
