I would not deal with this on the phone but take the letter into the branch so you are sure you are genuinely talking to the Metro Bank staff, and, ask them for an explanation. If it is someone else running a scam then they should want to follow it up, if it is a screw-up by the bank then you should get a fulsome apology and possibly some monetary compensation for the time and annoyance. |
