My dog is a rescue dog and upon adopting her I had to prove I was able to look after her, I have been bought up around dogs in my family, and have owned a german shepherd who passed away 14years ago. I am sure that a dogs home would have vetted me and my lifestyle before allowing me to walk out with a husky. Please bare in mind we do not know if she is a pure breed, her markings look similar to that of a husky. I have taken her to training and have also kept up with the training as I know how important it is for a dog to have a good level of obedience training. I do not think that just because a dog barks because she wants to play with other dogs is dangerous thing. I walk her in a number of parks and take her to the countryside on weekends, she is not an aggressive dog she is very playful. In some parks where you find a lot of families she is happy and children play with her by kicking the ball and she runs after the ball. I just find it strange that it's more the dog owners who have issues with my dog who is not aggressive, yet young children are happy to play with her. I most certainly do not think it is appropriate to say I should have a perfectly happy dog put down because she is vocal. A vocal dog in my opinion is no different to a human who can't stop talking and will not let one get a word in edge ways. Why is it ok for a human to be like that but if a dog it then the dog has issues and should be put down. The people who have told me to put my dog on a leash have there dogs of leash, but as soon as they see my dog they grab their dogs collar! They do not let my dog play with their dog. A well socialised dog is also a happy dog. Some people should see how their composition can also influence a dogs behaviour. A nervous owner means a nervous dog. A frightened owner means a frightened dog who hides this by being aggressive. A playful dog does not mean a disobedient dog. A dog who is vocal dog does not mean a aggressive dog. |
