"Jim is talking about Outlook.com which is online webmail." Jim is now talking about his forthcoming switch to Thunderbird, which I assume is what Andrew was asking about. What happens when you are away from the computer that runs Thunderbird depends on how you have set things up. If Thunderbird is not running, your mail will stay on the mail server(s) and can be accessed via the web from a laptop or phone while you are away. Or you can copy your Thunderbird folders on to the laptop and continue to receive mails while you're away. There are also ways of synchronising mail across two devices; for example, one of my mail accounts is a Gmail account which supplies incoming mail to both Thunderbird (on desktop or laptop) and my Android phone. |
