Very worrying - I was just reading the papers at the kitchen table next to a round glass vase containing flowers and noticed a tiny patch of the kitchen table had turned black and was smoking. I quickly moved the vase out of the way, only for a new black spot to appear and also start smoking! I put the vase on the side (not realising it was the cause at this point) and poured water on both the smoking black spots. I couldn't for the life of me work out what had caused the smoking black spots until I put the glass vase back on the table, and saw an intense patch of sunlight fall on the table through the vase. Within seconds, the spot of light was scorching hot. It seems to flukey to be true - I've just googled it and can't find it anywhere! So frightening to think it could have happened whilst I'd been out of the house... Thought I would issue a word of warning!!
