I'm puzzled by two of the arguments in the last post. 'Stationary Traffic causes more harm to air quality than traffic that is moving'. It's rarely stationary, more slow moving I think. A car moving at 100Km per hour must use more fuel than a car moving at 20km per hour. Four lanes will enable more traffic to use the motorway. The economic benefits ..sounds like the same arguments tat are being made for HS2. Which are dubious IMHO. |
