| I tend to watch rugby on a time shift basis now starting 10 minutes behind kick off and fast forwarding through scrum resets meaning I missed most of the ads. The France Ireland game was very one-sided and, although the Irish got unlucky with a few decisions and the bounce of the ball, they were well beaten. The French took their foot off the gas in the second half. The Irish don't have the depth to cope with the level of injuries they currently have and lack pace which made them vulnerable to the French and is a strong indicator they will lose at Twickenham. Italy Scotland was an exciting game in bad conditions between two mediocre teams and England Wales was a bit embarrassing. The thing that should bother people most about the Six Nations is that the final round of fixtures don't all kick off at the same time. This year it won't matter because a supremely talented young French team will beat a quite talented young English team to win the Grand Slam but, in future years this format deprives us of a potentially thrilling finish for the benefit of advertising revenue maximisation. |
