| I'm astonished the consensus seems to suggest LU hasn't spent serious time, effort and money trying to alleviate the issue and that some Heath Robinson affair, dreamt up by the good people of Chiswick, will bring some miracle idea to the table. Retrofitting PEDs to 156-year-old curved platforms will not only be cost-prohibitive (and close down the station for months and months), it'll simply send people elsewhere (possibly to the adjacent platform where a slowing train will do the job nicely). Fitting safety doors to brand-new, below-ground stations is very different to adding them to open air relics. |
