Interesting.  I tried the route on Citymapper and it did list Elizabeth line via Ealing Broadway as an option, but not the first choice (which was District to Hammersmith and then H&C line)

I think going via Ealing Broadway will be slightly more expensive as you would be charged a zone 3 to zone 1 fare from there (if you need to go through a gateline to transfer )

I don't know how crowded Elizabeth line is at Ealing in the peak but an advantage of the H&C line route is a guaranteed seat at Hammersmith as the trains start from there.
