Having recently seen a large plastics recycling bin stuffed with unflattened large plastic bottles and plastic milk containers I wonder why they are not being flattened so as to reduce their volume. Many milk containers now give instructions on them to flatten/squash snd replace the lid on the empty rinsed bottle before recycling. It's less to carry and more plastic being recycled. But perhaps that's not what the recycling company wants - or nobody's bothered to update the bin information. |
