There are a host of great films on the BBC over Christmas including Witness for the Prosecution. See the very helpful BFI link posted by Russell earlier in this thread for more. As for original content as well as Gavin and Stacey there is the new Wallace and Gromit film. I also have to admit to being very excited about the new series of Death in Paradise. We have recently ditched the streaming services we were using as there was always plenty to watch for Free and this really highlighted the value of the licence fee. As well as comprehensive and trust worthy news there is a regular stream of good quality original drama and comedy, national and local radio. This is not to mention a whole range of provision that I don't use but others do such as podcasts and music radio. Speak to anyone who has lived in another country for any length of time and they will explain to you exactly why the licence fee is a great thing and we are extremely lucky to have the BBC. |
