Deregulation of drugs and over the counter sales also puts a lot more pressure on the NHS too.  If we have any antibiotics that will still work for us they will soon not work if they can just be bought for a price and be used indiscriminately.

I doubt very much if the kids know what they are taking half the time.  After a while we will have the situation they now have in America.
