From my experience, in the last two days there have been: 1) Roadworks for the C9 cyclelane on Brentford High Street/London road. 2) Connected to those works, but possibly unrelated, there are two very deep wells being dug on the same road, roughly outside Regatta Point. I don't know why they'd be needed by the cycle lane, and they might well not be, for yesterday there was a van from Cadent, the gas network, there. Still, in order to work in those two big shafts they've set up a one-way system with some VERY long red phases, which causes long queues. I'll be honest, I've not quite understood how the lights are synced yet. 3) There were a number of trucks carrying dirt/gravel and doing excavations on Kew bridge road by the train station. This isn't to do with the cycle lane and, in my experience, is what caused the greatest amount of mayhem, for they'd closed off one lane on the road leading to Chiswick roundabout, in both directions. The signs on the barriers are different from those on the C9 roadworks, meaning they're from a different company. Last but not least, there's a LOT of cars with one person onboard, as usual. I rode my bike very slowly along Bollo Lane, up to the new Acton estate, and from the junction with CHR to the Royal Mail sorting office I counted 85 vehicles. All but 7 had one person onboard.
