| "It's things like this that make the cycle lane pretty useless. If I need to go anywhere North of the High Road, I use the main carriageway so I can turn left. If I need to go anywhere East of Chiswick Lane, the phasing on the cycle lane lights is so bad that it's a lot quicker to dodge low hanging tree branches and pedestrians on the dreadful A4 shared use path than use this. There needs to be a cycle lane on both sides of the road with traffic, not this badly designed piece of uselessness." Exactly.....and because the carriageways are now very narrow, its all fun and games eastbound in the morning. On the part where the cycle lane is fully open we have..... Bikes weaving between eastbound vehicles. Bikes on pavements. Bikes weaving between pavement and carriageway. Bikes weaving between pavement, carriageway and cycle lane. Bikes on the westbound carriageway going east. Bikes going from carriageway to cycle lane and vice versa. ....and yes some bikes fully staying on the cycle lane! |
