" At a guess, the four hour limit was insisted on by the car park operators; as otherwise they wouldn't generate enough income in *fines*. They last thing *they'd* want, would be for visitors to be allowed to pay say £8 for 8 hours parking, with all that income going to the park. As in that way *they'd* make no money from fines at all. You might have thought that this thought might have occurred to the CIC management when *negotiating" the contract but apparently not. Presumably the parking company would have been even happier with a two hour limit - but in *only* restricting visitors to the park to a four hours stay, the CIC management really do seem to think they've struck some sort of bargain.     michael adams
