| Dear Watch Member, Three guys on scooters were operating on the Wyke Gardens Estate. They tried to steal a motor bike this morning on Saturday the 20th March around 9am from Stags Way and were subsequently chased by the cleaner on Braybourne Drive after seeing them trying to swap/steal number plates and possibly targeting other motor bikes. The police were called, and a police van attended immediately but the scooters managed to escape. Two of the scooters were silver and one had a silver box at the back. The third scooter was red with a black box at the back. The three guys were all young males, slim built and average height. One had a phosphoric helmet, a black top with a single white stripe along the arms, black track suit bottoms and black & white trainers. The second guy had a black and white helmet, black top, grey track suit bottoms and black trainers. The third guy had a white helmet, grey tracksuit and white trainers. Coincidently, a scooter was stolen last night from Wyke Close on the same estate. One can assume that the two incidents might be connected, and a possible gang might be targeting the area and the Wyke Gardens Estate in particular, following an attempted theft of a motor vehicle on the 17th March. Please ensure your motor bikes and scooters are well secure and alarmed at all times. Kindly stay vigilant and if you see criminals at work don’t approach them and simply call the Police on 999 for any emergency or 101 in a nonemergency situation.
