I well remember Catos next to TGStation. It was a wonderful place which had its very own smell, selling paraffin, hardware and candles.
There used to be an elderly lady selling flowers outside the station and when she retired Jason and Spencer Wheeler took it over, using a shed in the yard next to the station which is owned by TfL to store their flowers and make up bouquets.
My daughter had a historic canal boat and had ordered a purpose built shed  to use as a kitchen from Simon who was renting a shed in the yard but the shed didn’t materialise so I asked Jason and Spencer if they’d seen Simon at all who said that he was in the Caribbean installing sheds on yachts.
They said that he wasn’t and was in Hammersmith with a lot of people trying to find him.
The area was being used as a dump and as I sat there on an old washing machine I had a vision!
When Jonathan Carr had a vision  for Bedford Park, there was a garden centre next to the Station so that was what was needed again.
Suggested it to Jason and Spencer to think about and they did.
So I sent a recommendation to TfL who said that it’s such a small site that it wasn’t really of much interest to them but they would consider it.
A lady then arrived to visit and approved.
So then we had to decide what to do and how much it was going to cost.
Too much so Jason and Spencer did it all themselves with help from their families. Which plants to sell and we made lists.
They’ve done so much to help the local community, suppling plants for Green Days and water for cleaning the Timeline Mural. Cleaning the pavements
