| I presume Shaun Edwards has now moved out of his Chiswick home to an equally smart arrondisement of Paris so he will no longer be spotted regularly in local pubs (and I am told the local Catholic church). Yesterday provided evidence once again that he is the finest defensive coach in the world. He did it with Wasps, he did it with Wales and now he has made the mercurial French a side with a steely discipline which looks set to make them invincible this season. He is English and has often expressed a desire to coach England but they palmed him off with an offer of coaching the Saxons which was a clear indication of what the RFU thought of him. Perhaps if there is one potential benefit of Brexit it is the slim hope he won't get a work permit when freedom of movement ends and will be forced to return to England. |
