Even walking past the new Metro Bank in Chiswick High Road, one can easily see the large illuminated picture of a local roadway scene in the Reception Hall. It's circa 1919 and the elegant electric tram has been pictured somewhere between Shepherds Bush... Chiswick... Brentford... Isleworth...Hounslow and perhaps the route to Fulwell Tram Depot. The Bank, when I met them at a recent function, were interested in finding out the exact location that the picture was taken. One notices the wall and pillars in the background and the lion atop. It looks like a junction too. Image is on next message. Any ideas? |
