| I guess you must be far enough north to miss the landing noise but not far enough north to hear the planes after an easterly take-off. A well-chosen spot! I'm about ¾ mile from the northern runway landing path, so I hear them but am not bothered by them. I do notice the quietness when the airport is on easterly operations, but today has been much quieter than that. I guess there's always a background level of plane noise from Heathrow that isn't noticebale until it stops altogether like today. Traffic noise from the A4 seems to have been lower too. I wonder what proportion of A4 vehicles are normally goping to/from Heathrow. |
