I'm going to state the obvious here, if the price is going down, isn't it best not to sell and wait for the market to bottom out and recover? Current predictions appear to be at least another year of falling prices which will catch up with Chiswick as the effects of the economy work their way from the more exposed (save for a few like those who gambled large amounts on a overly volatile and random stock market. Most folks appear to be renting although, depending on the size of your house you may be better off selling. Prices are dropping at the lower end of the market whilst the upper end is suffering from low volumes of houses but there are still some folks out there at the top end that are current unaffected (although most will be in the next year). Renting is safer - but I would explore selling through a few agents (avoid Foxtons especially in these market conditions). |
