| Good to know I am not the only mug. I was conned while with my toddler daughter in Ashbourne Grove a few months ago by a woman meeting the same description. Slightly different story - although intriguingly similar details clearly tailored to get my sympathy - she desperately needed to get to High Wycombe hospital where her sister who was heavily pregnant had just had a car accident - in her car. I think she was locked out of her house too - can't remember and the husband was not available for some reason. She needed the train fare to High Wycombe and she said was going to go via Harrow or something. She gave an address in Ashbourne Grove which turned out not to exist and a number that didn't work. Her name was Shereena or Serena. Her story was so well thought out that I was convinced at the time though had a nagging suspicion shortly afterwards. Needless to say no money has been returned. |
