“A 2025 report by the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse said that the ethnic background of offenders was recorded in 69% of cases, of which 90% were white, 5% were Asian, 2% were Black, 2% were from mixed ethnic backgrounds and 1% were from "other" ethnic backgrounds.” “(17%) were conducted by organised networks of criminals (so-called "grooming gangs").” I do not wish to minimise the scandal of not properly combating the grooming gangs, but ethnicity needs to be seen in overall context. I’m bemused about the concern for offenders’ human rights when there is talk of chemical suppression of sexual desire. It seems to me the rights of the offenders must be balanced against the rights of those they put in danger and offend against. The rights of the victims and potential victims clearly come out ahead for me. |
