| You might think so Janice as it seems counterintuitive, but phototherapy uses light levels that are much higher than what you would get by exposure to the sun. It also consists of mulitple short duration sessions, rather than hours, so cells are killed rather than being damaged. It's cells that are unintentionally damaged (which can become cancerous) rather than those that are intentionally killed that are the problem. |
