This is an old story. And it does not just apply to Johnson & Johnson. Basically all aerosol sunscreens contain chemicals and in most cases they are derivatives of benzene which is a known carcinogenic. However, the derivates may not be but it could be the case that they break down into benzene over time. The actual proper medical studies down around the world do not support the view that chemicals in sunscreen were causing cancer at best they came to the conclusion that if you gave sunscreen at very high doses to rats and mice (3-5x the level any sane human would use) there was some indications that they might cause a slight increase in cancer risk but the evidence was inconclusive. Either way those chemicals do not change human DNA. Just another wild conspiracy tale from our resident tin foil hat wearing nut job |
