| My recollection was that there was a great deal of anger and resistance to the proposal. It wasn't a decision made by Sadiq Khan though. The review of the police estate began under Boris Johnson and the selection of which stations to be closed was made by the Met. Most of the Met's funding comes from the Home Office so the financial constraints driving these sort of decisions are complicated. All parties campaigned against it as far as I remember but all, were in some way complicit with what happened. |
