OK I give in. The article says this: "The King Street route will still be delivered by TfL and will become part of its Cycleway 9 scheme from Brentford to Kensington." There are going to be TWO cycle lanes running parallel in Hammersmith. One on King Street paid for by TfL linking with C9 at Goldhawk Road and continuing over the Hammersmith Gyratory and down Hammersmith Road to Olympia where pressure is mounting on RBKC to continue it along Kensington High Road to Hyde Park. That will create a fully segregated cycle route from Brentford to Greenwich. And a second cyle lane on the short stretch on the A4 from Rivercourt Road into Hammersmith that will be paid for by London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. So no this news does not sound the death knell for C9 on CHR. The opposite. |
