Yes we used to do that years ago when we had to buy water but in this country we drink tap water.  Always useful in hot countries where you have to buy water.

I've looked at my Surfers against Sewage bottle and it is a Chilly bottle and it is 500ml - heavy when full.  If I'm sensible I'll work out how long to run the tap into it to fill it less and so make it less heavy.  Or maybe just using a jug to half fill is easier :)

Can't remember when I last flew.
