My understanding is that the newspaper delivery to mrs Joshi was stopped after a complaint from a single individual? It's a crying shame. I think the shop next door does the papers now (Same delivery co., timings etc., but mrs Joshi... How on earth can anyone object to her post office?! It's been there longer than a fair few residents and provides a welcome local hub. It's so much more than a post office, and complaining about paper deliveries... Well, that's just baffling.)

The terrace extension complaint re the planning permission and resulting extension - I think, but correct me if I'm wrong - stems from SOGA (Strand on the Green Association)? We are members, but, sadly, couldn't make the AGM this year and received no minutes, so I cannot check this. I hope the PP problems go smoothly. The Bell & Crown is a superb local pub & eatery, with friendly, warm service, great food and a real gem in our local community. Fiona and her staff always make you feel welcome. (I live in Strand & don’t mind the “structure”, so fingers crossed, it'll all be sorted & solved soon).

Please don't think we're all "NIMBYs" etc. Re. the newspapers, I'd have a hard time believing it's anything more than the few kicking up a stink for the many. I've heard no one complain about deliveries to the PO, shop or coffee shop. What else would you expect, if not deliveries, if you're living in an area w. a parade of shops?!
