| The collection frequency for non-recyclable waste remains weekly in Hounslow for the time being. There is a stated policy to move to fortnightly collections. Following initial indications that this would start in April 2016, it now appears that the change will be tied to the end of the SITA contract in October, when the work will be taken back in-house. Recycling collections of food waste, paper, bottles, cardboard etc. will remain weekly, and plastics will also move to a weekly collection (not sure when). Garden waste will be a chargeable service from April, with fortnightly collections at £50/year. |
