Unfortunately the need isn't updating gun laws, those are somehow entrenched in a misreading of the Second Ammendment of the US Constitution (ironically, based on English Common Law) which reads: 'A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed' In the US there is a major influence by the NRA (National Rifle Association) which is lobbying Congress to pressure the refusal to update current gun control laws. The amount spent by this firm is astonishing. The power weilded by them in the halls of government is even more astonishing, bordering on disgusting. Change needs to occur first in the power wielded by these special interest groups. Representatives, voted by their constituents to have their best interest in mind are immediately under the control of these firms. Crazy people do crazy things. The sad thing is, even crazier people are powerfull enough to do nothing to stop this sensless violence. And this is all from an American, who grew up in Southern California. Shame on the politicians whos pockets are lined by these special interest groups. Shame on the citizens who donate and fund these groups. Shame, Shame, Shame... |
