I went into the National Portrait Gallery yesterday afternoon. They were searching bags at the entrance, as they have been for some time, long before the recent scares. I don't carry a bag in winter as my gilet has plenty of pockets for all my stuff, so I was waved through. I actually asked them if they would like to search my pockets and was told, 'No, you're fine'. Surely a failure to search pockets renders the bag searches pointless? |
