I often send emails to local agents if a sign appears to have been up a long time and there is no property listed for sale at the address. Either I get a polite reply and an explanation that it will be taken down promptly the next time their contractor is removing boards or I get no acknowledgement but the board has been taken down the next I pass. I sometimes also put a notice on Fix My Street if there are a cluster of boards placed at busy road junctions which are obviously there just to advertise the firm rather than the property. Overall I would say the problem is not as bad as it was a few years ago when Foxtons in particular appear to have engaged in aggressive flyboarding. They seem to have cleaned up their act and other firms have done likewise.
