I couldn't agree more.  As mobility becomes more difficult and accessible buildings to meet in for coffee or lunch disappear the social scene can be very limited.

In the country everybody says Good Morning when they meet - stranger or not.  In London everybody used to hide behind their newspapers on the tube to avoid talking to each other and nowadays their eyes are glued to their mobiles.

Rebel and say hello.

Smile - it takes fewer muscles than scowling.

Visit your elderly friends and relations. One day that may be you.
