Although I love the light of candles and tilley lamps I hope you have also checked your smoke alarms! You can buy LED plug-in night-lights/safety lights which are useful for hallways. They stay alight after the electricity has gone off - but the one that is also an easy to use torch often seems to have difficulty finding its way back to position... and can't be used in the rain. I love the solar powered light that I bought from the charity Solar Aid which I discovered at Ecobuild one year which sits in the kitchen window so that it is always charged. And there are still candles... and matches because the electric for the gas won't be working. Still need to line some curtains though! |
