Looks like the preceding flight (Bahrain Royal Flight Gulfstream) might have been slow to clear the runway, forcing the BA 747 returning from maintenance at Cardiff to go around. Go-arounds happen on average once or twice a day. It's pure luck that determines whether or not an aircraft simultaneously taking off on the other runway is on a departure route that creates a potential conflict and has to be redirected, like today's. |
