Tory Mayoral hustings tonight - his opposition to airport expansion reported to be weakening, and he has ruled out resigning from the party if they complete the u-turn. Given that he's trying to get the backing of a party split down the middle on the subject of 'where' but not on the subject of building a runway somewhere you can see it from his point of view, but it does seem that his principles are negotiable when ambition beckons. Besides, he'll have to compromise a lot more than that to get the nomination from a party that's clean round the twist barking mad. [also his announced transport plans are awful, he has zero experience and he's too close to Boris - 8 years of that nonsense was quite enough and the next Mayor needs to start by repairing the damage - some of the starry-eyed hero worship on here beggars belief] |
