| Damn you and your common sense Chris :-) We lack an integrated transport policy. I still can't believe that there is a reliance on 'internal' flights and that the link between existing airports are, in the main, woefully slow. Compare Heathrow to Schiphol Heathrow transfers to anywhere are ordinarily via London so it's 'go in to come out'. Schiphol and ones steps off the plane takes a short walk to the intercity platforms and then it's off to wherever you want in the Netherlands or wider western Europe. Intercity links to a two runway Gatwick and we could have what the Dutch have enjoyed since the 1970's. |
