I expect it is. Interesting to hear that there is such a lot of theft of these and presumably consequently mis-use.
I have to say that having one has made a lot of difference to us in taking an elderly relative out and about. It takes two of us anyway to accompany and park and find seating.
The public transport system is very problematic for those who are less and/or becoming less mobile. The eligibility for free transport comes at a time in your life when it is more difficult or impossible for many to use. Perhaps we should be looking to improve it not just for large numbers of people but also for more elderly and less mobile people. |
